Jacqueline Coughlin

Married for 23 years, divorced for 16 years. I stayed at home to raise my girls and took in free-lance sewing/decorating projects during their younger years. From 89-99 I worked as an Admissions Counselor for Eastern Michigan University in a sattelite office from my home and continued to pick up free-lance sewing projects on the side. I worked for Tom Wilson (Ziggy character) at American Greetings sewing prototypes. 99-03 was an assistant buyer and designer of softlline products for Things Remembered in their Coporate Office. In 2003 I went back to school and got my nursing degree. I worked for 2 years in the ICU at Huron Hospital and I now work as an intensive care nurse at Lake West Hospital. Off time I travel to visit my daughters and their families (along with my sewing machine) and have decorated each of their homes as well as made each of their wedding dresses.

I remember the TWIRP dances, dress codes, early dismissal so that I could work at Kroger's as a cashier, driving my '58 VW bug to school every day. I was exposed to some serious sewing education at North and I think that high schools don't even offer this now. Playing cards (Blackjack) during study hall with my study (yeah right) buddies and offering a free ride to school the next day if I lost. I remember losing John McGlue ('67) to the Vietnam War and later seeing his name on the memorial wall in Washington.
